Texas Weekend Getaway at Lavender Lace
In Austin, there are an infinite number of things in the city to keep anyone who visits constantly entertained. While the city is stimulating and full of energy, I sometimes find myself needing to escape the noise. A Texas weekend getaway is the perfect solution to decompress and simply relax.
Luckily, you don’t have to travel far to find the perfect vacation in a cabin that’s cozy and quiet. As you drive out of the city, away from the crowds of people, the loud traffic and stress begin to slowly disappear. One of the cutest Texas retreats is private, offers massages and is not far from a lake and hiking trails.
Where To Find Lavender Lace
Less than an hour from the Austin area, you can reach the beautiful hill country or the scenic plains. I traveled north near Georgetown and Liberty Hill to explore more of the area and unwind.
Staying at Lavender Lace Retreat & Spa
When arriving to Lavender Lace, I was immediately greeted by the goats from across the street, and the donkey and miniature pony in the pasture. The property is peaceful and quiet, with plenty of space to enjoy the outside. Only one party at a time is able to access the cabin, so I choose to enjoy some time to myself.
The Cabin
The 50-year-old refurbished cabin sits on 10 acres and truly gives you the space you need to find a calm environment. While enjoying the privacy and the coziness of the cabin, it’s a great option for a solo trip or even a weekend getaway in Texas for couples.
There are 2 separate bedrooms on the ground floor, and a private suite with a full bathroom on the second floor. The narrow and steep staircase leading to the second floor is perfect when needing addition space to relax in the house. With its slanted, wooden walls it reminded me of a converted attic and has great views of the property.
In the kitchen, you’ll find local wine that is gifted for the guest to enjoy. After popping open a bottle of rosé, I prepared a charcuterie board to enjoy. The kitchen is tucked away to the side of the cabin and has a full-size fridge and coffee station.
Outside you’ll find a space for a fire, grilling out and simply sitting or swinging on the porch. Yard games are also available for guests to use. Even though it was very warm during the day, sitting by the fire with a glass of wine on a clear night was more than perfect. A kit for making s’mores is also provided when you’re craving something sweet.
During your stay, keep a look out for two very sweet gray cats that like to pay the guests a visit while on the front and back porch.
Massages
During my Texas weekend getaway, I took complete advantage of the option to include a massage with my stay. Jennifer, who is also the host, has been a licensed massage therapist for almost 10 years. She is warm, welcoming and passionate about providing excellent hospitality and wellness.
While looking for where to stay in the Texas Hill Country, seeing options for private massages really sold me. There are several massage options to choose from that will be the perfect way to spend your weekend. The massage room in the back part of the cabin is dedicated for full body massages.
There is also an option for an outside, private and covered canopy session. The outside treatment allows the guest to detox as the massage therapists helps you stretch and loosen any tight muscles.
I chose the scalp and neck massage and added an amazing hand massage that also included a hydrating wax treatment. I loved the space and lighting in the living room, and with the house being privately reserved for me, I was free to choose anywhere in the cabin to enjoy my session. Jennifer was kind enough to set up the massage space in there, and it was fantastic.
After my session, my fiancé stopped by the cabin and also enjoyed a massage session. Jennifer provided an amazing full body massage treatment that really helped his low back tension.
Whether you are looking for a solo trip into the country, or hoping for private spa couple treatments, a stay at Lavender Lace Retreat really has you covered for a peaceful experience.
Exploring the Nearby
Since I traveled to somewhere new for my spa weekend getaway, Texas has some really cute small towns that I wanted to explore, conveniently near Lavender Lace Retreat. For more Texas retreats all over the Hill Country, don’t miss out on these other adorable towns to explore. Below are the nearby small businesses and excursions that filled my weekend and made it special and more.
- Lavender Lace Retreat: Lodging and Massage Retreat
- Forrest Coffee House: Coffee Shop
- Munch Munch Waffles & More: Breakfast
- Agape BBQ: BBQ Restaurant
- Dahlia Cafe: Southern Cooking
- H-E-B: Grocery Store
- Russell Park: Lake Georgetown Swimming and Hiking

Coffee
For coffee lovers, Forrest Coffee House in Liberty Hill has something for everyone. This adorable coffee shop, with indoor and outdoor seating, serves traditional espresso drinks along with Frappuccino’s.
If coffee is not what you’re craving, they also serve beer and wine. Their flavorful and refreshing Rosé Berry Delight is my favorite.
Where to Eat
On my Texas weekend getaway, I love to indulge and try local restaurants. No matter if you pick sweet over savory, Munch Munch Waffles & More is so delicious! My favorite sweet options are the Churro waffle and absolutely the Graceland waffle. For savory and very filling options, you must try the O.G and the chicken biscuit.
If you’re in the mood for a southern Texas meal, Dahila Cafe has got you covered! They also have delicious burgers, sandwiches, soup and much more.
I am a major Texas BBQ snob, and while you’re in Liberty Hill you must try Agape BBQ. The atmosphere is very laid back and pet friendly. The brisket is fantastic and is a local favorite.
Outdoor Activities
The best way to keep cool in the peak of summer, is paying a visit to Lake Georgetown. Russell Park has a great beach with easy access to the water. Lake Georgetown is my favorite lake in all of central Texas with its clear water and plenty of space to spread out. For those interested in hiking and biking, the Goodwater Trail wraps around the entire lake with more than 26 miles to explore.
If you’re interested in more hiking, Doeskin Ranch is a wonderful place to visit that is scenic and part of the hill country. Part of Balcones Canyonland, the area is protected and is a great way to experience Texas outside of the city. It’s a little less than a half hour from Lavender Lace, and absolutely worth the visit if you enjoy hiking.
The Best Parts of My Texas Weekend Getaway
My favorite moments from visiting Lavender Lace were the stargazing at night, sitting by the fire with a cat for company and slowly waking up the next morning to a quiet and stress-free massage. It truly is a great way to escape the city and have a moment to yourself. When you’re ready to book your stay, click the link here.
When exploring outside of the property, having breakfast waffles at Munch and Munch followed by an afternoon of swimming really made it the perfect day. Treat yourself or someone special to a Texas weekend getaway.
