In many places, it’s a time that brings a crispness in the air, the changing leaves, cravings for warm apple cider and carving pumpkins. However, while living in Texas, October can still feel like an extension of the summer. To start the transition from summer to fall, there are many festivals and pumpkin patches in Austin that celebrate this time of the year and brings the community together.

Visitors can enjoy finding their way through a massive corn maze, wagon rides, pig races, apple cannons, unlimited pony rides, petting zoo, pumpkin picking and much more! There are actually 40 attractions on the property especially for younger kids to enjoy. The biggest events happen on the weekends in October, so be sure to check for the times they occur.

Visitors explore a half mile walking path with 6 themed displays of glowing pumpkins with detailed carvings that illuminate your surroundings.
My favorite section was absolutely the Harry Potter theme. You walk through an area with music from the Harry Potter movie, fog and floating pumpkins that give the illusion that you’re walking through the Great Hall.
The festival also includes displays of pumpkins carved by professionals, fire dancers, and tasty fall treats. It’s a fun, immersive event for those looking for a more spooky “pumpkin patch Halloween” experience. Whether you’re looking for a date night or a family-friendly outing, Pumpkin Nights adds a special twist to the traditional pumpkin patch. Texas Pumpkin Fest in Leander is providing all the fun fall activities and more. Not only will you find a pumpkin patch with massive pumpkins, but you can also find the Hall of Monsters, and indoor attraction with animatronic monsters. There are also magic shows, zombie hayride, petting zoo, kiddie train, zombie laser tag, mechanical bull and so much more. Many of the attractions are free with the price of admission, others require the purchase of tokens.
Visitors to the festival will also find carnival like rides like their Giant Pumpkin Spinner, Pirate Ship Ride and G-Force Ride. Also, try your luck and bring your sweet tooth to the kid’s pumpkin pie eating contest. There will be a costume contest, so don’t skip out showing this year’s costume as much as possible.
Insider Tip: Free Admission for Veterans, Active Military and First Responders on Fridays. Pets will have to stay home for this event. Food vendors along with alcohol is sold on the property.
