Hi Friends! My name is Laura, and I am passionate about traveling and having new experiences. I moved to Texas in 2018, and I had no idea what to expect when I came to Austin. Having never been to Texas, I expected the stereotypes of cowboys and tumbleweed blowing in the wind. Sure Texas has some true cowboys that ride horses on a ranch, and west Texas may have it’s share of tumbleweed, but there is so much more!
When I first moved to Texas, I was told about all the state parks spread across the state. I previously had lived in a very outdoorsy town and was itching to get on a trail. It wasn’t long before I challenged myself to visit at least 90% of the Texas State Parks. Still working on my goal, it has lead me to see some incredible things here in Texas.
From exploring the Texas version of the Grand Canyon at Palo Dura State Park, to the beautiful beaches on the Gulf, there really is something for everyone in Texas.
Other than the outdoors, I love to go to different events and places in Central Texas that are incomparable to what you may find anywhere else. “EVERYTHING’S BIGGER IN TEXAS” are not just words that get tossed around. After living here in Texas, I know how much there is to see and how much Texans loves to put on a good show and go big on everything.
